Can you place a bet on yourself?

I mean a huge bet?

Because I just did.

I've never done something like tnis before.

I'm 100% new to such things but I'm confident that it'll end gloriously.

(I just heard "or not" in my head 😭)

And by tomorrow I'll see the result of that bet.

I'll tell you all about it, but first…

I want to ask you a question:

While thinking of writing to you about my huge bet, a question popped into my head.

So let me ask you:

"Can you place a huge bet on yourself?"

Let me put it this way:

"If your uncle decides to place a N350k bet on you, that you'd have achieved 87% of your 2023 goals by the end of the year…

Do you think he'll win?

Or do you think, his money would go with the wind?"

You see…

There are only 66 days left this year…

65 days if subtract today.

How well do you think you've done with your goals for the year?

I don't intend to be your "aspire to perspire" motivational speaker today.

I'm just a person who loves taking stock in every facet of my life.

So, don't reply me with your answer…

Here's what you should do instead:

Take a (mental/physical) note of whatever your answer is, and adjust as required.

That's all.

Nobody…

I mean no SINGLE PERSON can get it right for you.

You've got to do it yourself.

Now, back to the story of my bet.

Yesterday, I officially registered for the 10km Ikoyi road race competition by signing the indemnity form.

[An indemnity form is an agreement that says you understand the risk involved in a particular thing and you'll not press any charges whatsoever if things go south]

If you have read my emails for a while you'll know I do a 10km race 3 times a week.

It's my weekly exercise routine.

But what I've never done in my either life is to partake in a running competition.

Never!

Not even in secondary school.

So, what got into me this time?

Will I win the competition?

(Just so you know, the 1st prize is N250k, 2nd is 200k… and the 5th is 50k)

Will I be among the first 5?

I don't know.

But I guess the only way to know is to show up tomorrow at the competition.
